Troop 111

The path after the pack.

Scouts BSA Troop 111 meets at the same church on the same Monday night — where Arrow of Light scouts cross over and keep growing outdoors.

Same Monday night

Troop 111, Plantation United Methodist.

Troop 111 is the Scouts BSA troop for ages 10–17 in Plantation — boys and girls, fifth grade and up, or Arrow of Light and age 10. It meets Mondays, 7:00–8:30 p.m., at Plantation United Methodist Church, 1001 NW 70th Ave, Plantation, FL 33313. Pack 111 meets in the same building from 7:00–8:00 p.m., so a family with a Cub and a Scout can be on the same night.

The troop is scout-led: patrols plan the program while adults coach from the side. Arrow of Light scouts from Pack 111 cross over ready to join a patrol and keep growing outdoors.

What the troop is like

Adventure with a purpose.

Skills practiced at the meeting — knots, cooking, first aid, navigation — get tested on the trail, on the water, and at summer camp. Youth plan the program; adults coach from the side.

  • Scout-led

Patrols plan camping, service, and advancement. Adults coach from the side while scouts practice real leadership.

  • Outside is the lab

Campouts, hiking, canoeing, archery, fishing, and summer camp. Skills learned at the meeting get tested on the trail.

  • Path to Eagle

Merit badges across more than 120 interests, ranks from Scout to Eagle, and advancement tracked in Scoutbook.

Local roots

Many of our leaders walked this same path.

Cubmaster Derek Wright earned his Arrow of Light in Pack 111, continued in Troop 111 to Star Scout, and is active in the Order of the Arrow. Webelos and Arrow of Light Den Leader Luis Hernandez (“Mr. Mak”) is a Troop 111 alum from the early 1990s. When your scout crosses over, they are joining a troop that still feels like home.

Arrow of Light is the bridge

Fifth-grade Arrow of Light scouts visit Troop 111, learn how a patrol works, and cross over when they’re ready. An Arrow of Light scout — or any youth who is 10 and has finished fifth grade — can join Troop 111. Families stay on the same Monday night at the same church.
