Questions families ask
Quick answers for families thinking about joining Pack 111.
When and where do we meet?+
Pack meetings are on most Mondays, 7:00–8:00 PM, in the Fellowship Hall at Plantation United Methodist Church, 1001 NW 70th Ave. Check the calendar for cancellations and special events.
Can my scout come try a meeting first?+
Absolutely! Send us a note with the form on our Contact page and just come by on a Monday night — we’ll introduce you to your den leader.
Do parents have to participate?+
For Lions and Tigers an adult partner joins every activity. For older dens, parents are always welcome and we love volunteers — fill out the Family Talent Survey to tell us how you’d like to help.
What does my scout need to get started?+
A handbook is provided for each scout. Lions wear a blue t-shirt; Tigers and up wear the blue Cub Scout uniform with their den’s neckerchief and slide, available from the Scout Shop.
Are girls welcome?+
Yes! Cub Scouting is open to all kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.
The Scout Oath
“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”

Safety is #1
Rocky’s safety tips
Every adventure is better when we stay safe. Rocky models two habits that matter most: staying hydrated and always using the buddy system.
Stay hydrated
Bring water to every meeting and outing. Drink often — especially in the Florida heat.
Always use the buddy system
Never go alone. Stick with your buddy so we can all look out for one another.

The Outdoor Code
As an American, I will do my best to —
01
Be clean in my outdoor manners.
I will treat the outdoors as a heritage. I will take care of it for myself and others.
02
Be careful with fire.
I will prevent wildfire. I will build my fires only where they are appropriate.
03
Be considerate in the outdoors.
I will treat public and private property with respect. I will use low-impact methods.
04
Be conservation-minded.
I will learn how to practice good conservation of soil, waters, forests, minerals, grasslands, wildlife, and energy.
