If a Cub Scout has completed the first grade (or is 8 years old), the scout may start earning the Wolf rank. The scout receives a Wolf Scout handbook and is responsible for getting a blue Cub Scout uniform, Wolf neckerchief, and Wolf neckerchief slide when beginning the Wolf portion of the advancement trail. The Wolf Scouts spend the year preparing to begin earning the Bear rank after completing second grade.
Second graders work toward the Wolf rank. The Wolf rank is earned by completing seven adventures as described below.
1. Complete each of the six required adventures:
Character & Leadership
Paws on the Path
Running With the Pack
Safety in Numbers
Footsteps
Council Fire
2. In addition to the six required adventures, complete at least two elective adventure of your den’s or family’s choosing.
3. With your parent, guardian, or other caring adult, complete the exercises in the pamphlet entitled How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.
4. Earn the Protect Yourself Rules Preview Adventure for Wolf.
